  • For sale a 1965 BMW R50 /2.

    The 1965 BMW R 50 /2 VIN 64XXXX was manufactured on May 18th, 1965 and delivered on June 28th, 1965 to the BMW importer Butler & Smith in New York City. The bike was equipped with a bench seat.

     

    Mechanically in great shape, original paint in quite nice and presentable condition.

    MATCHING all 3 VIN NUMBERS, frame, motor and frame tag. I am the 3 owner.

    In Addition,

    * New Tires Front and Back,

    * New Benchmark Works Side Stand,

    * New Petcock,

    * OEM Bench seat,

    * Stainless steel exhaust,

    * Bar end turn signals,

    * New tire air pump.

    * Re-sealed and re-built rear differential (receipts),

    * New miscellaneous rubber elements,

    Recent maintenance: oils changed, oil pan dropped and cleaned, timing and valves set. Runs and rides excellent. Clutch and brakes work well, gearbox goes through all 4 gears as it should. Lights, also all work as intended.

    I have ridden the bike on many occasions and shifted all 4 gears – It was a PLEASURE!

    Those bikes are getting much harder to find and have great following. Ride it home wherever you live.

    Vintage beauties like this excellent original machine do not come around very often, in fact, they are rarely available anywhere in this level of mostly original condition. Motonit has been exceptionally fortunate recently to have this classic Avus Black airhead twins arrive, allowing us to be responsible for finding their next homes. While they occasionally are on display in the showroom for extended periods of time until the perfect match to the next owner, caretaker and enthusiast.
