  • For sale a 1967 BMW R50/2.

    This bike is a great for someone looking for a reliable rider vintage BMW. This bike is a piece of art and a great investment with triple matching numbers.

    Mechanically and cosmetically in great shape, paint in quite good condition. Motorcycle went through some serious refresh in 2013 that included many new parts and accessories (see receipt pictures). There are some small surface rust spots, scratches and dents but nothing very significant, just as you would expect from a 50 years old machine. Bike starts easily, runs very well and rides like a 500ccm bat out of Hell….We have ridden this bike and shifted all 4 gears, it was a pleasure! Bike runs quiet as a mouse, rides straight and effortless like an arrow…….

    Many rare accessories installed that every vintage BMW enthusiast will appreciate. Recent tune-up included carbs tuning, timing adjusted and valves set. Bike runs and rides excellent. Triple matching numbers, ~31k miles shown on the clock. All electrical components appear to work as intended.

    Disappointments of sort… 🙁

    – Few dings and scratches in different spots but mostly on the tank,

    – No key for the steering lock but a blank key will be provided, can be imprinted at your local locksmith,

    – Chromed out hub caps,

    – Non OEM Horn,

    Those bikes are getting much harder to find and have a great following. Ride it home wherever you live.

    Period motorcycle magazine testers praised the BMW R50. In 1955 road test, The Motor Cycle said: ” Road Behavior of the R50 is extremely gentlemanly. Indeed, it is difficult to visualize a machine of conventional conception being more smooth, quiet, comfortable and clean to ride.”
