SOLD OUT – 1968 BMW R69S

  • To many the name Bayerische Motoren Werke stands for the pinnacle of motorcycle engineering: this is not surprising because the basic design, attention to detail and finish of the R69S are superb. Perfect balance, unusual flexibility and a reassuring feeling of safety are the foremost factors which give the rider the utmost confidence in this machine, especially at high speeds.

    The BMW R 69 S VIN 6624xx was manufactured on December 29th, 1966 and delivered on the same day to the BMW importer Butler & Smith in New York City. The bike was equipped with a bench seat. Bike was sold and titled in the US as a 1968 model by the ButlerĀ  & Smith dealer in the NYC which was very common during that time period.

    The BMW has never failed to impress the true motorcycle enthusiasts. The light alloy castings and the logical and orderly arrangement of the various components clearly indicates that this machine was designed and built by craftsmen who took pride in their job.

    For Sale 1968 BMW R69S. Bike is triple matching vin numbers (engine, frame, tag). This bike is in very original state with pin stripper initial still under the rare and very sought after Schorsh Meier Sport 6.5 gal Gas Tank. New Denfeld rider solo seat, stainless steel exhaust headers. Recently serviced with new harmonic balancer assembly. Bike comes with the large US Denfeld solo seat, along with the great condition Wixom front fairing. 47K miles, always serviced and taken care of meticulously.
