We are offering for sale a recent estate sale find a 1981 AMF Harley Davidson Superglide FXE-80 in pretty original condition, we do not know the history of this bike and it is being sold as-is, where is without any guarantees as it is with those old motorcycles.
* The bike starts, runs and rides quite well, motor sounds nice and tranny shifts through all the gears,
* Compression 120psi on both cylinders,
* Electrical components like lights, horn, turn signals all work as intended,
* Brakes both work as well,
* The paint on tins look really nice with few small scratches here and there. The paint on the frame and swing arm shows quite of patina, looks original with factory vin decals and worn out as shown in the pictures with scratches, paint chips and rust spots etc.
* Since long ago someone chromed lower front forks legs, the chrome is peeling off but does not affect the function of the forks and is purely cosmetic in nature,
* Chrome everywhere else has patina as well and shows its age with tiny rust spots small dings here and there,
* New Rear tire, new ignition cables and points and condenser, the front tire looks good but shows signs of dry rot and will need to be replaced soon,
* The seat although original and looks really good has a small tear underside by the oil cap,
I have not seen any major oil leaks on the motor or tranny. This bike has the original wet primary that may seep few drops of oil over time but that is being consider normal with those old shovs. Sweet Harley FXE-80 Shovelhead is all numbers matching and ready for the new owner. Bike comes with 2 ignition keys and a clean title.
